FC Moonstruck Bailey´s Cream Fch (5-16-1997 to 12-17-2011) was an amazing dog. He earned his AKC lure coursing championship in two weekends (minimum possible timeframe) and then earned his ASFA title. He was best known for his weight pulling. At our first weight pull, all the Husky and Malamute owners were whispering and laughing at the crazy girl with her Basenji in a pulling harness. But with no training he pulled 820lbs. Everyone at the competition stopped laughing and started cheering. Bailey´s record pull was 1215lbs and he weighed 20lbs, that´s 61 times his body weight. Bailey often appeared at local dog events at the Natural history museum and helped at the Canine Fun Days (greyhound fundraiser). He appeared on T.V. and in a number of magazine and newspaper articles. He was a wonderful spokesman for his breed. Our special thanks to Jan Brunner and Heather Heddick for breeding this terrific boy.
Bailey spent his senior years summering in Cleveland and wintering in Hilton Head, South Carolina enjoying the beach, the weather, and all his human & doggy friends. But being a typical basenji, he refuses to even put one foot in the water.
He will be in our hearts and memories until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.
